Trout Life is delighted to announce that fly-fishing journalist – and uber enthusiast – Spencer Durrant, will be a regular contributor to our blog. Starting this month, Spencer will be sharing fly-fishing expertise, industry news as well as his humble and refreshing outlook on the fly-fishing lifestyle on the blog weekly.
Spencer’s writing has appeared in the Orvis Fly Fishing Blog and Hatch Magazine. He also writes the monthly ‘Trout Bum’ column for Ogden, Utah’s Standard-Examiner; and is an aspiring novelist. Born and bred in a small mountain town in Utah, Spencer began his writing career in the sports world. However, even a position as the Utah Jazz’s feature writer couldn’t keep Spencer away from his true passion – fly-fishing.
Spencer is a self-proclaimed wing and steak connoisseur who says he’s not nearly as good at fishing as people think he is. Connect with Spencer on Twitter or Instagram – be sure to ask him about Winston rods, Tom Morgan, John Gierach, his favorite fishing trips and his biggest regret: selling his old Camaro. Remember to subscribe to the Trout Life blog to catch all his great insights.
