December is almost here, the weather is frigid, and the steelhead are finally showing up in their usual haunts. While the sockeye salmon run is the lowest ever recorded (thanks to warmer water temps, according to CBC News based out of British Columbia), the steelhead are plugging along as usual. If you’ve always thought about taking up steelheading, now’s your chance.
The folks over at Reds Fly Shop put together this great introductory video, explaining the very basics of steelheading and how you can get started in chasing these elusive, massive, nearly-mythical fish.
